i want to ask a question about food pyramid..

why some pyramids are inverted...?

i don't understand the explainations in book...

Dear pure emotion,
In some situation,e.g. an oak tree is very big it can support twenty caterpillars to live in it.
For the pyramids of number, the first trophic level is oak tree and the second tropjic level is caterpillars, the prymaid of no. will be 20/1 so it is inverted.
