If you understand differential permeable membrane,then you should know why osmosis only appear in living cell. The word 'differential' means selective that is the membrane can choose what can pass through. Therefore only living cell can make their own choose. If cell membrane looses its function(i.e. the cell is dead, it becomes freely peermeable. |
